Bardia Jungle Safari

Bardai National Park is famous for being one of the largest National Parks in Nepal. Located near the country’s western plains and the east of the Karnali River, it is among the most frequented tourist destinations in Nepal. Bardia National Park: (968 sq. km) is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai lowlands. It consists of sal forests and tall grasslands. It is a regenerated habitat for endangered species like the rhinoceros, wild elephants, tiger, swamp deer, black buck, ghriyal crocodile and Gangetic dolphin. Cobras kraits and pythons are also found here. Endangered birds include the Bengal florican, lesse florican, silver-eared mesia and Sarus crane. The local people are mainly Tharus. The headquarters of the park is Thakurdwara.

Chance of being familiar with Tharu culture and rafting in Karnali River are the additional attraction of Bardia jungle safari tour. The best time to visit Bardia National Park is from October through March, when the temperature averages 25 degrees Celsius because the rest of months March, April and June can be extremely hot, &  July – September is the monsoon season when river swell.
