River Rafting

One of the best ways of discovering the ethnic cultural and natural heritage of Nepal is through rafting. The country is rich with rivers that are just perfect for rafting and canoeing, cruising down the rivers of crashing waves. These marvelous locations will also surprise you with breathtaking sceneries and natural spots which will guarantee a lifetime excitement. For many travelers who have visited Nepal. Rafting has been the most adventurous and exciting experience, and many come back specifically for that. You will be presented a variety of options to enjoy drifting in the rivers. Some are paddling, varying and crayoning. The river runner will be there to explain you all the instructions of paddling. You can also choose and enjoy the option of luxury safari-style trip. By choosing this option you will be accompanied by a guide who will take over the beat control and you will have the opportunity to observe the heavenly nature all around. Starting from October till mid-December, March through June, June to September is considered to be the best time for rafting.

In order to fully explore river rafting, Nepas Travel planned rafting trips in all the different wonderful rivers in Nepal; from the most clam ones to the fiercest ones. It is wise to dedicate one to three days of your trip to Nepal. None of the Rafting trips include trekking. You definitely don’t need to be an expert to take part in this and have fun. We offer kayaking and rafting trips that are just perfect for the beginners, kids and families. There are also more challenging ones, of course.

Below we present some rafting trips:

Trishuli River: The classic river (1 to 3 days)

If you are a beginner paddler, rafting trip to Trishuli is just for you since it is classified to have 3 to 4+ in high water. This trip will enable you to enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding areas while rafting on Calm River. This trip can be very easily combined with Chitwan National Park trip. Another unique feature about this location is the cable car leading to the famous Hindu Temple Manakamana. Please note that during the monsoon months the river may increase its rapidity.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1: Drive 3-4 hrs to the raft put-in point at Fishling.

Day 2: Drive 3-4 hrs to the raft put-in point at Malekhu.

Day 3: Driven for 3-4 hrs to the raft put-in point at Charaundi.

  • shorts and a T-shirt or swimwear for on the river
  • suitable footwear for wearing in the raft
  • warm clothing for the evenings
  • a towel

  • a flashlight is also useful.

Safety
Your safety will be seriously taken care of by the “WhiteWater Nepal (P.) LTD. All the representatives are trained in CPR, First Aid and advanced river rescue techniques.

SetiKhola: Warm and beautiful (2 days)

Setiriver is famous for its breathtaking sceneries and the calm and gentle river perfectly suitable for families who would also like to enjoy birdwatching and nature. Most of the year, Setiriver is classified 2 to 3+ which is quite calm. The Seti is best river in Nepal for kayak learners. The river passes through amazingly green jungle, hills and valleys. It truly is a memorable experience and is worth visiting.
